As a destination wedding photographer, I love capturing weddings that feel true to the couple and their story. Mia and Clark’s Michigan family farm wedding in Henderson was filled with handmade details, emotional moments, and the kind of personal touches that make a wedding unforgettable.
Although I’m based in Chicago, I often travel for weddings and elopements. This Michigan family farm wedding is a perfect example of how a destination doesn’t need to be far to feel meaningful. Clark’s family farm has hosted several weddings before, so celebrating here carried on a family tradition while also reflecting their own love story.
The ceremony took place behind the barn. Mia and Clark shared their first look before exchanging vows at the pond located not so far behind the barn. Surrounded by open fields and history, it was the perfect backdrop for their day.

Mia poured her creativity into every detail. She handmade her wedding dress from scratch and embroidered tiny magnets as keepsakes for each guest. Friends designed the florals, and Mia worked with her bridesmaids to create bouquets the morning of the wedding.
Their table numbers were another favorite detail. Each table displayed photos of Mia and Clark at that age—baby photos for table one, childhood photos for table ten, and so on. Their siblings chose the images, turning the reception into a visual journey of their lives.
I first met Clark while photographing his best friend’s brother’s wedding in 2022. Later, he reached out again when he proposed to Mia. By the time their wedding day arrived, they already knew and trusted me. That trust mattered—it allowed them to relax, stay present, and know their memories were being documented with care.
This is why choosing your destination wedding photographer is so important. Wedding photography isn’t just about taking photos—it’s about connection. When you hire someone you already trust, especially for a destination wedding, you can focus fully on the experience while knowing your story is in safe hands.

I’m very grateful for couples like Mia and Clark who continuously trust me with my craft to be able to capture their wedding day as it all unfolds with cinematic and documentary flare.
Whether it’s a family farm wedding in Michigan, a mountaintop ceremony in Colorado, or a city celebration in Chicago, I’d love to capture your story wherever it takes you.
